I guess its been 7 months since I last got on. Well I will try to get caught up with pictures and post. I will be back........

Family pictures

On Monday, we had Wendy take our family pictures at Gardner Village. I wanted them done before my braces get put on the next day. The kids were pills and uncooperative. I think Ashlee is the only one that would do anything. Katelynn wouldn't even smile. But thanks to cousin Stacey, she saved the day! Her family were getting their pictures done by someone at the same time. They were done and we wanted to get one more setting. She helped entertain the kids to get them to look and smile at Wendy. It worked!! Thanks Stacey! I have to admit that the more people and the younger the kids, the harder it is to get pictures done. I will post the pictures when I get them back. On Tuesday the 28th, I went to Horsley Orthodontics and got braces on! (Again) Two years ago someone threw my retainers away and my teeth are now different. I went to see if I could get a retainer, and Bryan Horsley said it would be better to get braces for 6 months-a year to get them corrected. A retainer would just keep them the way they are. I do not remember my mouth getting so torn up from braces. He put clear on the top 6 teeth and silver on the rest. I can't complain though, He is only charging me what insurance will cover! I am so glad we are related! Thanks Bryan for doing this for me. I will enjoy it when it is all over!! Poor Ashlee though, she has a mess in her mouth. Her bottom jaw is set back a whole tooth space, so she will have to get that corrected. Her top teeth cover 80% of her bottom teeth when she bites down, plus she is missing 3 or 4 permanent teeth!! Oh, and she has 3 teeth on both sides up top that are coming in at an angle! She has to go back in 8 months to have another x-ray and then we will go from there. If we didn't catch this in time, Dr. Horsley said that she would have to have surgery to fix her jaw!! I am so glad I took her in when I did. Thanks again to Dr. Horsley!!!

It's been a while since I last wrote, but a lot has been going on. With a week long migraine, then Katelynn getting sick and Ashlee, Mike and I getting it too. After that I painted Joseph's room and started to redecorated it and had a vinyl party. Then came a week of Birthdays in September. Mikes was September 29th. He is 32! Man are we getting old. Two days later on October 1st, Joseph turned 6! Man does time fly by. He has grown into a tall, handsome kid. He wanted a Pirate birthday, so that is what we did. My cake was a flop. I should have looked at the directions one more time before I tried to put it together, oh well. I was trying to make a pirate hat, it did look somewhat like one. I will try to post pictures soon. Now I just need to find an Indiana Jones hat for Joseph for Halloween. Then do some Birthday shopping for Ashlee in November and before we know it, Christmas will be here and I am not ready! Anyone know of a money tree I can plant?!

Can you ever be too careful?

Two weeks ago, over Labor Day weekend, Katelynn was having a hard time breathing. She seemed to have a cold, but then it got worse through out the day on Sunday. Mike's family finally convinced him that we need to take her to the hospital. He didn't think it was necessary. She was using her neck and stomach muscles to even breath. Her lips were a darker color too. She was working so hard to breath, she couldn't stay awake. So we set out to find the Urgent Care near his parents home, to realize our insurance wouldn't go to that particular one. I drove to ST. Marks Hospital and into the E.R. we went. I was filling out paperwork while they took Mike and Katelynn right back to get her checked out. The Dr. decided to give her an albuteral treatment and steroids to help her breathing. Her oxygen was in the high 80's. They did a chest x-ray and didn't find anything. The Dr. felt they couldn't do anymore for her and that she needed to be taken up to Primary Children's Hospital by ambulance. Mike didn't think it was necessary because of the cost. They ended up having her on oxygen and having to do another treatment on her. We got to Primary's and they gave her a turbo treatment and more steroids. Her oxygen was between 88 and 91, after an hour of all the medicine. The Dr. felt she needed to stay through the night. She was admitted to the Rapid Treatment Unit (RTU) where they monitored her. Her oxygen dropped a little and they did treatments every 4 hours around the clock. They decided to let us go home after 1pm. So we were there for 12 hours. We had to continue doing albuteral treatments with the nebulizer and steroids for the next 4 days. I am so thankful that Katelynn is doing better. It will probably be something we will go through often.

Joseph 5 years old

Katelynn was up at Primary Childrens Hospital for 5 days in May. She had restrictive airway disease! Uncle Kody is holding her, taking a break from Med. School up at the UofU.

Madisen had surgery up at Primary Childrens Hospital in June on her left thumb. She had a trigger finger. It wouldn't straighten and stayed bent. Her aunt Mindy noticed it and we took her to the Dr. who told us to go to a Plastic Surgeon. He told us what it was and that they are born with it. You may not notice it right off. He had recently fixxed his 8 year old niece's finger. She can staighten it without any problems now!!
